Three Common Things People Say When They Have Pain

  1. “I should go see a chiropractor” (especially if they are having back or neck pain) - chiropractors mainly work on the joints of your spine

  2. “I should go get a massage” - this is typically through a massage therapist for 30-60 min.

  3. “I should go exercise or workout” - typically this will involve a group exercise class or going to the gym and/or working out with a personal trainer

Although these are all viable options, did you know a physical therapist could help you with these things? 

A physical therapist could work on all three:
(1) Work on your joints (in your spine or extremities)
(2) Work on your muscles/soft tissues and myofascial trigger point release (though not a full hour session like a massage therapist would).
(3) Work on exercises that are specific to your needs, whether that’s flexibility, mobility, strength, or motor control.

The goal is to get you back to your usual activities without difficulty.
